WHAT IS SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE

SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

We use constantly varied, functional movements in a high intensity way that delivers dramatic fitness results for athletes of all levels of skill and experience:

 

Constantly Varied: You will rarely do the same workout twice at SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE By doing something different every time you work out you keep the body guessing and eliminate plateaus and boredom common in traditional programs. 

Functional movements: Our goal is to prepare our athletes for life’s obstacles. We do that by using training that mimics life – running, jumping, throwing, squatting, pulling, pushing and pressing.

 

High intensity: Performing vigorous exercise in a high intensity way is the most effective way to elicit positive changes in performance and body composition. We do this by timing most of our workouts and completing them as fast as safely possible.

COMMERCIAL GYMS VS. THE SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE METHOD

SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE is a professional coaching/training facility. You will have multiple certified trainers coaching every single day. At a local ‘globo gym’ like the Planet Fitness or Fitness Connection you may only pay $10-$50 a month. This small fee simply gives you access to their gym. 

 

Traditional gyms cost less because members who don’t show up subsidize the costs.

A fundamental difference between a corporate club and a SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE is that most members of a traditional gym will not use the facility regularly, while most performance members come several, if not most, days per week. Of the approximately 41 million members of health clubs in the U.S., about 60 percent of members are not habitual users. Only 39 percent use their gym membership more than three days per week, or 100 days per year. Factoring in the initiation fees and cancellation charges that are a prevalent part of traditional gym fees on top of the monthly fees, traditional gyms are able to cover their fixed costs over a larger population than the facility could comfortably accommodate if all members were regular users.

SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE is more like sharing a personal trainer with friends than belonging to a health club.

The SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE is constructed on a model of instructor-led group classes, which are ideally sized at between 10-15 participants per class. This fosters the tight-knit community that SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE thrives upon, while still keeping the size manageable enough that the instructor can monitor individual performance and form. 

Because SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE doesn't charge joining fees and because its members thrive on the sense of community bred by seeing the same familiar faces at their workouts. In reality, the monthly fee for belonging to a SHIPWRECK ATHLETICS & PERFORMANCE Center is more comparable to hiring a personal trainer, which would cost perhaps $30 each visit if shared with a friend, and that would be on top of the monthly health club membership fee.
